In an effort to modernise the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination
system, the government has planned to formulate new BCS examination
rules which could be made effective from the 35th BCS examinations. The
Public Service Commission (PSC) has already sent a proposal to the
Public Administration Ministry in this regard, according to official
sources.
As per the annual report of the Public Service Commission-2013, the BCS Examination Rules-2013 will be formulated in Bangla. According to the proposal mentioned in the report, the BCS preliminary examination will be of 300 marks while the duration 3 hours against the present marks of 100 and the one-hour duration. The examination fee will be Tk 700 instead of the existing Tk 500, while the fee for the tribal candidates will be Tk 250 instead of the existing Tk 50. In the proposed rules, the first paper examinations of all subjects will be of 200 marks, while the duration three hours and the second papers of all subjects will be of 100 marks and the duration three hours, according to UNB.
